DROP-OFF & GOOD-BYES
All the Cubs should arrive by 9:00 AM. Between 8:45 - 9:00, a teacher will be
available to open car doors for drop-off in the carpool line and another teacher
will greet campers and parents at the front door of the school to take the kids
into the main Cubs area. If a camper is having difficulty in separation, or
if she is eager to show a parent inside, the parent may join her up until 9:15.
For the stability and consistency of our program, we ask all parents to say
their good-byes before the Cubs begin the morning activities.
MORNING ACTIVITIES
Each day begins with a “campfire" meeting with attendance, songs,
skits, and a report of the day’s activity choices. Campfire is followed
by morning activities. These activities are teacher-led and may include arts
and crafts, sports and games, cooking and performing arts. Morning activities
are usually related by a theme such as “Building Connections” or
“Friendship”.
SNACK & RECESS
Campers are provided with a mid-morning healthy snack. After snack, they have
supervised free-play in our playground
or general recreation areas, the gymnasium
or the roof.
LUNCH
Campers bring their own lunches to Cubs' Club. After lunch, they have supervised
free-play outside or a teacher-led activity.
CUBS’ CLUB
DISMISSAL
Between 11:45 – 12:00, the Cubs are brought to dismissal and carpool at
Hamlin’s Vallejo entrance. The Cubs who are staying for Cubs’ Camp
remain in the Cub area. The rest of the Cub staff will assist girls into cars
in the carpool line or greet parents picking up their camper. You will receive
a carpool number that will remain the same during the school year. Please keep
your carpool number visible on the backside of the passenger's visor in the
front of your car.
CUBS’
CAMP CAMPGROUP ADVENTURES (CGAs)
During the afternoon, the Cubs head out on a CampGroup Adventure (CGA) in or
around Pacific Heights. CGAs may include walking to Marina Green, touring the
Exploratorium, playing games at Crissy Field, or going to the playground in
Golden Gate Park. The Cubs’ Camp has a maximum of twelve campers
per day. Cubs’ Campers are enrolled on a first-come, first-serve
basis. We walk and use the MUNI system as our primary form of travel to teach
campers the benefits of public transportation.
